Our first contact with the yaks
At Gansu Monastery
The monastery`s burial place
Here they have so many Edelweiss that the horses eat them. We didn`t dare to pick a single one though
In this little restaurant we had tibetan noodle soup almost every day
Then we started our three day horse treck. On our way we quite frequently met nomads. It was time to moove tents and they were all really busy.
Lunch break at the source of Dragon River
This is where we wanna go
This is where we came from
The back of our host for the first night. This woman is only 33 years old - hard to believe or not?
We spent the night in this small tent because the big one was already moved to the new campsite
The youngest nomad we met
Good morning everybody!
The family we stayed with spent the night on the matress you can see behind the saddle. They thought we would have it more comfortable without them in the tent and we couldn`t convince them of the contrary.
Zeiran our guide
This morning we gave the horses some rest and climbed God`s Mountain where the nomads revive their peace treaty twice a year.
Then we went on towards Flower Ocean where we should spend the next night once we reached the beginning of it, we needed a short rest. Honestly, we would rather spend a year on a bike than three more days on a horse back.
Our last stop we made in the little village where the old nomads and the grandchildren live.
