Xiahe, China

Our last station in China was Xiahe with the biggest monastery outside of Tibet. We quite liked there even if it was obvious that everything was strictly controlled by the Chinese, including monitoring cameras and Chinese "monks" to spy on the real ones.

While their women do the back-breaking work the men rather chat with their friends in tea houses and restaurants

We couldn`t really laugh

The flow of pilgrims never stops. The man on the last picture finished the 3 km around the monastery after three days.
