Central Chile and the lake district

We arrived in Puerto Montt on the 8th of january. The region is called "The lake district". German (as well as Austrian and Swiss) settlers started to reclaim this land in the year 1850.
We straight moved on to Puerto Varas. Carlos a guy from Chile recommended this because this town is much nicer than Puerto Montt ...later we`ll tell you more about Carlos who invited us to his farm.

The day after we arrived with the ferry we rented two cars with some people we knew from the boat and went around the lake Llanquihue and to the Saltos del Petrohue

Here we had a coffee

Lunch at the lake with Jens, Antje, Romain, Ian, Frank and Andreas

Two days later we arrived in Valdivia where we visited the famous "Cervezeria Kunstmann".

You won`t believe it but we had a beer there... and we ate Schweinshax with Sauerkraut and Kassler with Spaetzle. It was great!!

We also made a beer degustation. They brew 8 different beers there.

"That reminds me of..."

Everywhere german names.

Our next destination was Coñaripe where we wanted to visit the hot springs.

There we found a cute "hospedaje" for the night and went to...
