La Paz, Bolivia, 11th to 14th of February

On the way to la Paz we had a giant on the bus.

We stopped in a little village in the middle of nowhere and I gave a puppet to a little girl who were with her mother who was selling food out of a barrow. The women folded her a shawl so she could carry her "baby" the traditional way.

Since we reached La Paz really late and again made a mistake and trusted a recommendation from the Lonely Planet, we ended up in a pretty shitty hostel with terrible mattresses and tiny bathrooms we even had to share.

And the view! Definitely for people who love cables! ;)

Those little stands you find everywhere on the streets and we saw women sleeping in there at night. The women generally seem to work a lot here! The men you see more at night time...

A walk through town

For all the engineers among you: This was what was activating the big wheel on the fair we ended up that evening.

Some more impressions from the fair, a bit blury though:

For the ones who haven't seen it yet:
This is all our luggage

And this was when we were still thinking we would leave La Paz the same afternoon by plane to Rurrenabaque

And this the same evening from the terrasse from the really nice hotel we ended up in after some heavy fighting at the airport when they told us they resceduled our flight to the next morning because they first had to serve the travellers from the cancelled flights from the day before. This was the first time I ever freaked out in public - didn't even know I was able to.

In the end we didn't go at all because the next day they again had heavy rain in the "rain forrest" and this time our flight was cancelled and so have all the flights for the day.
Since we were already up we decided to try to go to the rain forrest in Peru (in Iquitos they have paved runways) and to carry on to Lago Titicaca the same day.
